Retired Dental Patients
Dr. Greene and I have been practicing together for a long time now. Long enough that, like the current Farmer’s Insurance television ads, we know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two.

Lecture Hall - Dental Seminar "Restoring the Severely Worn Dentition"In early December, I attended a two-day dental seminar at the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, AZ.  It was probably the best-taught and most information-dense dental seminar I have attended to date.

Dr. Spear is a well-known and widely acclaimed prosthodontist, and has assembled a large team of dentists, laboratory technicians, and staff to provide education and training to dentists, dental staff, and technicians.

He originally started in Seattle, Washington as the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, then combined with other dentists and moved to a much larger facility in Scottsdale at the new Spear Institute. The Scottsdale campus is truly impressive, with educational and clinical facilities offering state-of-the-art equipment and technology. They have a total staff of over 130, and so a wide variety of services are provided to dentists, staff, and technicians world-wide. Completing the Arizona facility is an extensive internet website for member dentists and their staff.  It offers a full curriculum of learning modules for dentists, focused training videos for dental staff, patient education modules, and an online discussion forum where dentists can present cases for input or ask individual questions to be fielded by Spear’s staff dentists as well as fellow participating dentists.

"It's a Wonderful Life" Movie imageMost of us have seen the classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life", and many of us know that "Bedford Falls", the location of the story, was inspired by Seneca Falls, New York. I thought you might enjoy learning about some of the details that you may not have been aware of in this story from the It's a Wonderful Life Museum:

Great American Smokeout badgeI just read a notice in my email list from the American Dental Association about the dangers of tobacco products for dental health (and overall health as well). I thought I’d pass along some of their information and a few great resources for basic information and to help those who need to quit.

tweed ivy capThe last time I saw Grant, he wore a tweed ivy cap...I first met “Grant” as a fellow member of a local service club. A few months later, Dr. Greene and I opened our new dental office here in Fayetteville, and Grant soon came in as a new patient. Our initial conversation in the office regarding his treatment needs included his questioning how much to have done to attempt to save his teeth since he was now 76. I explained that he was still in great health, and even at 76 he may need those teeth for quite a few years yet. He finally agreed, and I worked with Grant to provide the dentistry he needed to keep his teeth going strong.

happy patients

I have been a patient of Dr. Miller for 20 years now. I would highly recommend Dr. Greene and Dr. Miller's office to anyone that's in need of a dental office. Whether I'm getting my teeth cleaned or a tooth fixed I feel I have had very good service with little discomfort. The staff is friendly and efficient and always make me feel at ease. So if you need a new dentist give them a call.
